My amazing husband ….

Sent me these…

DSCF1241

with a note saying we would leave for

San Diego in the morning!

AAHHH!!!!

I was super excited and a little overwhelmed because I’m a planner. But I got us and the girls together and we left Friday morning.

DSCF1243The plan was to attend the San Diego Temple on Saturday morning and do anything else we wanted.

We had a delicious dinner Friday night at a local La Jolla restaurant. This was our view for dinner!

People were swimming in the ocean as the dolphins swam with them.

We wanted to eat somewhere you can’t eat at in Mesa.  The restaurant had the BEST clam chowder soup and our entrees were AMAZING. Mark’s only complaint was the soda! It was small and no refills. I had to laugh and laugh and laugh!

We walked around after dinner and in the La Jolla Bay we found this! Seals/Sea Lions (not sure) just hanging out.

We couldn’t eat dessert after dinner but wanted it later so across from our hotel was PF Changs. We got this 6 layer chocolate piece of heaven and we bought soda! YUM. YUM.

Attending the Temple was a wonderful experience. It was so beautiful inside with a brightness unlike the Mesa Temple. While the Temple inside is different, the ordinances are not! That was a sweet confirmation to me of the truthfulness of the gospel no matter where you go and the importance of temples!

Side Note ** I am a dork and forgot to pack Mark a shirt and tie so we had to by one.**

It was an amazing trip! One that we have always wanted to take but never have. Mark decided it was time to go before life got so crazy with summer and the mom/dad get to have time and fun without children!

Thank you Mark, I had a wonderful time with you even if it was hard for us all to get back in routine.

I LOVE YOU!

**A special thank you to both sets of grandparents for watching our girls so we could go. We love you!**

!!!!!!!!!!!

I have an AMAZING husband!….. I’ll explain later

Saturday, April 14, 2012

Why is it…

  • that i was up last night coughing my head off
  • that the day i don’t feel great and am tired Mallory wakes up at 5:45am and is ready for a nap at 10am
  • that today Mark has to work and won’t be home until this afternoon
  • that its windy and cold so us who have colds and coughs probably shouldn’t be outside to much

The silver-lining is that I don’t have to cook tonight (belated B-day dinner for my dad) and Mark will be home tonight with me! Hopefully, i won’t be coughing my head off.

Wednesday

Today we had nothing that had to be done or attended except laundry. The girls ate lunch outside on their new umbrella table. A gift for Easter from Papa & Grandma O. I made pumpkin chocolate chip bread for Tessa’s class tomorrow and for us. Why doesn’t the bottom of the bread come out nicely? I hate when that happens but it tasted great. Then Tessa decided to stop listening when it was time to help fold socks. Just 15 more minutes until Daddy comes home!!! YAH.

Spring is in the Air with Summer on the Horizon

We took the girls to the WildLife Zoo.  They liked the petting zoo (poor DSCF1180baby goats-Mallory loved them a little too hard) and feeding the giraffes.

Mark built a brick planter in the backyard. He did a great job! We still have one more project to get done before summer heat & craziness begins. Hopefully that we’ll be done by the end of April.

We took the girls to the Easter Pagent. Tessa loved all the music and dancing. Mallory loved to wander. It was a very fun evening!

I got to join Tessa and her preschool class on a fieldtrip to the park. Their teacher took them through a cactus garden and then they played and had lunch. It was fun to tag along.

The girls did pretty well while we watched Conference. Mallory found a comfy spot to sit for some of the meeting.

We also celebrated Great Grandma Peggy’s 80th B-day.

Spring has been wonderful! I am not really looking forward to summer and Mark working so much but so is the nature of his job. I won’t complain any more because the rest of the year is pretty great!
